Time-lapse imaging has the potential to increase the time-resolution of bacterial counts, but the differences between traditional CFU counts and time-lapse imaging counts are still unclear. In this project, bacterial counts obtained from time-lapse images using an existing image analysis pipeline will be used to re-estimate parameters from existing CFU-based PKPD model. Changes in the model required due for the time-lapse imaging can be evaluated and discussed. The dataset consists of E. coli exposed to ertapenem at a range of concentrations for up to 24 hours.
The work will be carried out in Uppsala in an international environment. The working language, including supervision, will be English.
