Learning Outcomes
After the course, the participants are expected to: Have a basic understanding of the mathematical foundations of statistics. Be familiar with advanced statistical methods often used in clinical research: survival analysis, propensity score methods, prediction models, handling of missing data, clustered data, and ordinal outcomes, methods for genetic data. Have a basic knowledge of causality and definitions of treatment effects. Be able to critically discuss clinical research results from a method perspective. Be familiar with the principles of statistical analyses in R.
Content
Maximum likelihood and the bootstrap. Propensity scores. Methods for clustered data, ordinal and survival outcomes. Multiplicity. Prediction models. Treatment effects. Handling of missing data. Statistical genetics. Register data. Agreement.
