Ten thursdays á 6 hours, once a month for two semesters.

The course is aimed at doctoral students in general medicine or other subjects with a clinical focus in primary care and public health. The education complements the doctoral student's basic courses by focusing on research methodology useful in primary care research. The course is translational and the participants are at different stages of their doctoral education and have different professional backgrounds. The course contains theoretical and practical teaching in research methodology, including area-relevant lectures in statistics, application procedures for applying for research funding, graphic presentation techniques, methods for developing scientific text from draft to finished manuscript, and scientific presentations in writing and speech by participants. The content is shaped to some extent by the participating doctoral students' projects, needs and wishes. The course has no summative examination, but the course objectives are examined through mandatory activities and achievements.

1. Demonstrate the ability to identify and propose appropriate research methodology based on a scientific question.
2. Demonstrate the ability to structure and formulate an application for research funding based on a research plan.
3. Demonstrate the ability to present, discuss and relate to scientific material orally, in writing and visually.
4. Demonstrate the ability to use peer-to-peer learning (p2p) as a method for developing scientific work.

Course content is taught through lectures and student interactive pedagogy such as peer-to-peer learning, flipped classroom, workshops and seminars. Students are expected to share knowledge with each other through peer-to-peer learning.

- Active participation in peer-to-peer learning (p2p) according to instruction, on at least 6 occasions
- Scientific presentation: oral with feedback according to p2p
- Scientific presentation: poster of partial study with feedback according to p2p
- Scientific self-produced text, approx. 1 A4, with feedback according to p2p
- Write an application for research funding
- Attendance 75% of 10 days (part of a day counts, however, must be whole moments)
